Overview
Established in 2005, the Department of Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) at Bharati Hospital, Sangli offers a comprehensive range of diagnostic and therapeutic services, encompassing everything from advanced surgical procedures to routine outpatient care. The department is equipped with an advanced audiology and speech therapy unit, and a specialized Rhinology, Vertigo, Voice and Airway Clinic featuring state-of-the-art endoscopic technology to support complex ear, airway and rhinological procedures and cater to the overwhelming number of outpatients and inpatients with vertigo and balance disorders.
There is a dedicated well-equipped modular operation theatre fully equipped with advanced medical technology designed to support a wide range of surgeries including Tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy, septoplasty, endoscopic nasal and skull base surgeries, tympanoplasty, mastoidectomy and Microlaryngeal surgery and vocal cord procedures, providing safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care for patients of all ages.
Our team of skilled professionals evaluates and treats a wide spectrum of conditions, including vertigo, sleep apnoea, nasal and sinus disorders, throat and voice conditions, hearing loss, and head and neck diseases.
Renowned across Maharashtra, the department is particularly recognized for its expertise in head and neck oncosurgeries, skull base procedures, airway surgeries, and cosmetic ENT interventions, consistently delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. The department is also in the process of developing cochlear implant programs to cater to the interest group at subsidised rates.
The department also runs a PG training programme under which 3 postgraduate residents are admitted through national level entrance examinations and trained in the field of Otorhinolaryngology with the help of dedicated temporal bone dissection lab, state-of-the-art simulation labs for training in tracheostomy, anterior and posterior nasal packing and other emergency procedures and scheduled academic activities.

Infrastructure & Facilities
Dedicated ENT OPD with 3 working stations, a well-equipped procedure room and Audiology and Speech therapy unit.
The OPD procedure room has provisions for microscopic and endoscopic ENT examinations with Flexible and rigid endoscopes (0°, 30°, 45°, 70°) and Carl Zeiss microscope.
The Audiology and Speech Therapy unit is equipped with setup for Pure tone audiometry, Impedance audiometry/ tympanometry, OAE and BERA.
Well-ventilated and equipped wards (male and female) with High Dependency Unit (HDU) facilities.
State-of-the-art modular operation theatre which caters to all the advanced ENT and Head and Neck surgeries, with OT-grade Carl Zeiss microscopes, Stryker endoscopy system, microdebrider, micromotor drill, advanced anaesthesia and monitoring equipment, and HEPA filtration and laminar airflow systems for infection control.
Temporal Bone Dissection Lab with 3 training stations, for hands-on skill development of otological surgeries as part of PG Training programme.
A well-curated Library and Museum with wet mounted specimens, models and bones for demonstration purposes and self-directed learning process for PG residents.
