Established in 2005, the Department of Psychiatry has grown into a comprehensive center for psychiatric care, psychological services, and postgraduate training. The department provides round-the-clock services through a 25-bed inpatient unit and daily outpatient clinics, supported by psychiatrists, psychologists, and residents. Patients receive individualized treatment using both pharmacological and psychotherapeutic modalities. The department addresses a full spectrum of psychiatric conditions—ranging from depression, anxiety, and schizophrenia to behavioral addictions, sexual disorders, and geriatric cognitive decline. It also offers advanced therapies like ECT, and biofeedback. Specialty services include Deaddiction clinic, Child and Adolescent Psychiatric clinic, Psychosomatic Clinic, Geriatric Mental Health, Memory clinic, Marital and Psychosexual clinic, student counseling, and interdepartmental liaison services reinforce its commitment to mental wellness.
